CC2630: antenna matching consultation and layout design guidance

Part Number: CC2630

dear specialist,

my customer utilize cc2630 to develop zigbee system,they had designed the test board,but encounter two problem, as below:

1.when the gateway run with 3.0v voltage supply,the node device can connect it,when the gateway supplied 3.3v voltage,the node device hardly connect it,if we touch the antenna by hand,it can connect again;

2.even if sometimes the node deviice can connect to the gateway,but it is very hard;

aim at above question,can you give me some suggestion or resolve method.  i surmise this question maybe caused by antenna matching or layout issue,can you give me some guidance about them?

best regards.

  • Hi Cickey,

    1. The antenna mismatch should not be affected by the voltage level of the system. It might be the case, that a higher supply voltage gives a slightly higher output power which will help if the link budget is very poor due to the antenna mismatch. But the antenna mismatch is not related to the supply since this is a pure passive network.

    2. To solve the antenna mismatch issue which seems like the main cause here. Which equipment do you have available to measure the RF / antenna ?
