CC2530: how to modify APS layer of z-stack 3

Hi there,
I have a 3rd-party zigbee devcie and cc2530 ZNP coordinator. the device can join the network. but the zigbee protocol of the device is modified. infacf network layer payload (including APS header and APS payload) is not standard. I know the format but I don't know how can I modify it in ZNP cc2530. I use z-stack 3.0.0.

As I know, you cannot modify APS header/payload since it’s done in Z-Stack library.

thank you for reply, I want to follow the message, when the device sends indication message "MAC_CbackEvent" and "osal_msg_receive" are fired. but I cant find why the message is not sent to ZNP uart.

I suppose that’s because those messages are handled by Z-Stack and won’t be sent to application callback.

is it possible to I translate the MAC payload (NWK and APS layer frames) of the device to a standard one in "MAC_CbackEvent"?

Hi,

I'm not sure why the 3rd party Zigbee device would make any modifications to payloads not conforming to the standards defined by the Zigbee spec.

You can see an example of how the payload is interpreted and response sent in nwk_MTCallbackSubNwkDataInd (which is called in the MAC_MCPS_DATA_IND case of MAC_CbackEvent). MT_MAC_CB_FUNC must be defined to use this functionality.

Apologies, MT_MAC_CB_FUNC is not meant for Zigbee (it's used for 802.15.4 CoP).

Actually, this may not be possible.
In MAC_CbackEvent, MAC data indication is passed to the network layer (osal_msg_send( NWK_TaskID, (uint8 *)msgPtr );).
The NWK payload is decrypted, then if it contains an APS frame, the APS frame is sent to the APS layer.
The NWK and APS tasks/callbacks are handled by the stack (the source is not provided, thus not modifiable).

I recommend not using a 3rd party device which uses its own APS format that does not conform to the Zigbee 3.0 spec.
