CC2592: + CC8520: Proper output power setting for CC8520

Hi,

I came across SWRA447 for the CC2538 with CC2592 front end.  (It was mentioned elsewhere that the CC2538 is a similar radio to the CC8520 I'm using).

Section 3.6 mentions that the 0xC5 power setting should be used for any application requiring 20dBm output power.  What is the equivalent output power setting in dBm from the CC8520 to match whatever output power "0xC5" represents on the CC2538?

    Hi Arthur,

    I believe 0xC5 is the 0 dBm setting for CC2538.

    You should measure the actual performance of your specific design, and select whatever CC8520 output power setting which gives you the output power you target from CC2592.

    Hi Arthur,

    If you look at the CC2592 datasheet it says that with a Pin = 0.0 dBm you will get Pout = 20.3 dBm (TYP):

    This means that the output power setting on CC8520 should be set to 0 dBm.
