CCS/CC2652R: no serial communication with Sample Application User Interface in example applications

Part Number: CC2652R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1, FLASH-PROGRAMMER, UNIFLASH

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I've got the CC2652R1F Development Kit and tried to run the TI-Stack example projects provided in the SDK.
The problem is that I can't get any output over UART for interacting with the Sample Application User Interface.

I'm using the interface XDS110 Class Application/User UART with the correct baudrate 115200.
I don't think it's a problem with my computers serial interface, because I've got output on the terminal when I watched it before flashing the project.

Setup: zc_light_CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs, SimpleLink CC13x2 26x2 SDK 3.10.0.53, XDCtools version: 3.51.2.21_core

Anybody knows what's the problem here?

Kind regards

  • HI,

Make sure you are using CCS 9.0 and a Rev E LaunchPad: e2e.ti.com/.../767777

Also confirm that all of your LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 jumpers are in the default position. Be sure to completely erase all device memory with CCS/UNIFLASH/FLASH-PROGRAMMER to clear the NV memory.

    Regards,
    Ryan
  • I don't have any X nor die revision marking on the chip, therefore I thought it should be Revision E or later. See attached picture.

I was using the latest CCS avaiable, the Launchpad is in default state (I didn't change any jumpers).

However Uniflash prints this device info: Flash Size: 352kb, RAM Size: 80KB, Revision: C (1.1).

Because of what Uniflash prints I tried CCS 8.2 and SimpleLink cc26x2 SDK 2.30.00.34 and I can successfully interact with the application via terminal.

Now I'm not sure, is my Launchpad Revision C or Revision E/later?

  • According to Uniflash prints and your test results, it should be rev.C chip.
