Hi, I bought CC2531 USB Dongle for development but I am confused on firmware source code for CC2531 USB Dongle and MCU drivers for new development.

Please suggest me firmware and driver source code link and compiler and debugger link.

Do you mean to develop Zigbee application using CC2531EMK? If so, you can download Z-Stack 3.0.2.

Hi,

One important thing to note is that you will need an external device to program/debug the CC2530.
For this you can use the CC Debugger or the SmartRF05EB.

I would recommend using the CC Debugger, as it is significantly easier to obtain.

For developing Zigbee application for CC2531, you can download Z-Stack 3.0.2. However, you can only build the examples with IAR EW8051 and cannot use CCS.

So there is no support for CC2531 in CCS and I need IAR studio, am I right?

Yes, that’s correct. By the way, CC2531 is pretty old product and I would like to suggest you to use CC2652R instead of CC2531 if you plan to design new Zigbee products. If you use CC2652R, you can use CCS which is free.

Only CC2531 or CC2538 supports USB interface and CC1352R supports both 2.4G and sub GHz. Since both CC2531 and CC2538 are very old solution and don’t support sub GHz, I would suggest you to use CC1352R and add an serial-to-USB chip such as FT232R as your solution.
