hi all,

i need to choose a part could support O-QPSK and 2.4GHz in PHY but other stack i could develop as my own protocol. i choose CC2530 at first but i can't confirm whether CC2530 SDK could support i develop my own protocol above PHY layer. is it could support my needed?

if i choose CC2630 or CC2538, is those SDK could support my needed?

and as my needed, may i continue use TI-RTOS in my project?

Hi Damien,

Why do you need O-QPSK for a proprietary protocol? All our 2.4 GHz proprietary offerings are currently GFSK based.

hi Fredrik,

i needn't proprietary protocol, i will create myself protocol base on O-QPSK PHY layer. so i choose CC2530 or CC2630. maybe i also could choose CC2520 to paired with a external MCU. if i could confirm that i can use CC2530 or CC2630 to create myself protocol, i will choose SoC solution at first.

so, may i use CC2530 SDK to create myself protocol base on 2.4GHz and O-QPSK PHY layer?

Hi Damien,

"Creating a protocol yourself" is a proprietary protocol. The question still stands, why do you need O-QPSK?

because my design needs to follow a kind of trade standard that request PHY layer needs at 2.4GHz and with O-QPSK. i don't know why they need this request but i need to realize it. maybe this standard derive from ZigBee.

Hi Damien,

We do not have an offering for proprietary solutions using O-QPSK. If you need this modulation, I would recommend looking into the TI 15.5 Stack, Zigbee or Thread, all for the CC2652R.

Yes, but it is a quite old device with limited support. You can also look at the SW examples for CC2530: www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware, but we are not actively supporting proprietary applications on this device.

i make it sense that CC2652R is the most fit with my application but i needn't multi standard. if i just choose a Zigbee wireless IC, with part is fit with my application?
