CC2538: How to get the Network Related Parameters (like Tx-Rx power, Signal strength, RSSI) of the Devices added to the network.

Hello YK Chen,

I am studding the Zigbee Cluster Library documentation to get the more information how to get the RSSI & related fields of the devices.

I found that there is a cluster called RSSI Location Cluster in Zigbee Cluster Library.pdf.

I have started studding it.

But i am not able to understand how it will be helpful to get the signal strength of the device.

will you please help me to know about it?..

rssi location Is for location service. I suggest you to stick to diagnostic cluster.

I am not able to find this diagnostic cluster. will you please provide more information related to it?.

It’s in section 3.15 of ZCL spec.

As per your suggestion I have studied the section 3.15 Zigbee Cluster Library Specification.pdf.

It's more related to the Commissioning cluster. 

I am not able to found/understand ho do I get the RSSI parameters of the device.

Actually our use case is, we need to get the signal strength of each device connected to in the network.

& it could be updated in runtime.

will you please help me to give reference related to it?.

Will you please help me to understand how commissioning cluster will help us to get the device current RSSI Value?.

Are you a Zigbee Alliance member? Can you specify which ZCL version you read?

Also I have trace the Zigbee CC2538 firmware code to know that diagnostic cluster & attributes are defined or not.

I am able to find diagnostic cluster & attribute in zcl_samplelight_data.c file.

I am more interested in this 2 attribute.

But if you look at the above code. there no variable or a functionality defined here ( NULL ).

is there any reference code so that I am able to get those attribute & write functionality for them.

Actually I am asking about how do I read the attribute ATTRID_DIAGNOSTIC_LAST_MESSAGE_LQI & ATTRID_DIAGNOSTIC_LAST_MESSAGE_RSSI

If there is no callback assigned to those attribute in the zcl_samplelight_data.c.

You can refer to zclDiagnostic_ReadWriteAttrCB from one of the sample applications for when ZCL_DIAGNOSTIC is defined.
