CC2530: sending message

since I want to send more general messages not only the temperature value report, I think the function osal_msg_send can be more helpful. am I right? and I want know how does it work?! can you explain please?

osal_msg_send is not for sending message over the air. You should create a custom cluster/attribute for such proprietary message and use zcl_SendReport to send it.

assume the temperature in known and its equal to 25. now I want the end device to send this value to coordinator. is this function correct for this? I'm not sure about my addressing and zcl_SendReportCmd arguments.

Basically, it’s correct to use zcl_SendReportCmd but destination_address->endPoint shouldn’t be 0. destination_address->endPoint should be the endpoint of your coordinator.

You can send active endpoint request to get it.

what command do I need in sample thermostat to check the received message?

SampleThermostate uses 8 as default endpoint so you can hard code 8 in destination endpoint. You should be able to receive messages in zclSampleThermostat_ProcessIncomingMsg

now the end device sends a char data (hello) to coordinator and hits the break point in zclSampleThermostat_ProcessInReportCmd. but what should I do to see the received data in coordinator? how can I extract the transmitted data from the packet and see that in the sample thermostat watch window???
