CC2530: end device frequently losing sync with parent

Hi Aviral,

If using a custom PCB instead of TI-provided EVMs then please re-evaluate the design layout.  How far away are the devices from one another and is a PA/LNA connected?  Please provide a sniffer log with NWK keys if possible.

Hi Ryan,

We have the PA/LNA connected for both the router and coordinator.

The LQI values as received on to the coordinator are:
directly to coordinator: 10-30
via router 30-50

I have managed to get the sniffer logs for a network consisting of one coordinator, router, and enddevice.

Here are the sniffer logs and the key is "0x00, 0x01, 0x02, 0x03, 0x04, 0x05, 0x06, 0x07, 0x08, 0x09, 0x0A, 0x0B, 0x0C, 0x0D, 0x0E, 0x0F"

Are these all CC2530 devices using Z-Stack 3.0.2?  Are you using a custom PCB?  Please note the following issue for the Z-Stack 3.0.2 ZNP project: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Zigbee_Known_Issues_and_Proposed_Fixes#Inclusion_of_HAL_PA_LNA_CC2592_did_not_propagate_to_ZNP_project

It seems your end device sends rejoin request without any reason. Do you change anything in Z-Stack?

Yes all devices are using Z-Stack 3.0.2.

Also we are using third party module with our PCB.

We are using CC2590 PA/LNA chip and have HAL_PA_LNA_CC2590 defined in hal_board_cfg.h 

Are you sure your third party module use the same connection on CC2590 as it is described in ?

We have added application code, other then that we have made few changes to the project config:

Does this have to do with the parent loss?

I don’t get it. If you set polling rate to 0, why can I still see device doing polling in your sniffer log?

The device is configured to send heartbeat message, so it wakes up regularly to send heart beat report and also polls the parent for new data.

OK. Can you confirm your CC2530-CC2590 schematics first?

the PA/LNA chip we are using is CC2591 not CC2590

Can you try to add HAL_PA_LNA into your project predefined symbols to test again?

What is your CC2530 ----- RFX2401 schematic?

Are we trying to figure out if the parent loss is because of low signal strength?
if Yes , is the LQI value not the sufficient indicator of signal strength?
