CC2531: No device shown in SmartRF Flash Programmer

The version I've downloaded and installed, from TI, is the original (v1.12.8), not Flash Programmer 2.

Hi, I hadn't as I am only wanting to flash my CC2531 dongle to re-purpose it as a Zigbee Coordinator. However, I'd followed the attached pdf, hoping that installing Packet Sniffer might nudge something in to place or install some missing/corrupt drivers, but sadly there is still no change and I do not have any devices showing in Flash Programmer. :(

Hopefully this link will help you to see what I'm badly describing.

This screenshot was taken whilst my CC Debugger was connected to my CC2531 dongle and both devices plugged in to USBs with a solid green light showing on both.

It seems that you are not using latest Flash Programmer version1.12.8. Can you try latest Flash Programmer version1.12.8?

Is your CC Debugger driver Installed correctly?

Try to test this on another desktop.

Already tested on anothet laptop, same results.

When you connect CC Debugger and CC2531EMK to your desktop, can you see anything related pops in your Windows device manager?

Nothing shows from the debugger, but the CC2531 appears once it's inserted in to the USB port, under Cebal.

If you start packet sniffer when CC2531EMK is plugged in, can packet sniffer recognize CC2531?

Yep, it shows as a capturing device in the list.

This means that your CC2531EMK running sniffer firmware in it. It can be recognized by Packet Sniffer so it should work without problem.

The problem was never with Packet Sniffer it's with Flash Programmer and the debugger. I'm trying to flash the CC2531 to be a coordinator but as it doesn't show up in Flash Programmer I can't.

Do you see "CC Debugger" on "Cebal controlled devices" list of Windows Device Manger after you connect CC Debugger to your Windows Desktop?

As previously states, I do not. There is no notification, no sound and nothing shown in Device Manager for the Debugger once connected, either linked to the CC2531 or not.

Do you have another CC Debugger? If yes, you can refer to section 8.4 Resurrecting the CC Debugger in CC Debugger User's Guide.

If you just buy it, I would suggest you to ask for replacement.
