CC2530 Z-stack 2.4.0 SampleAPP router node.

The network model that I want to test is a coordinator get information from each end nodes periodically.

I already check the situation with SampleApp in z-stach with end node and coordinator node. 

The range of transmission in each node is approximately 30 meters, so if a distance between a coordinator and a end node is longer than 30 meter, the data from a end node cannot connect to a coordinator node. 

So, I want to put a router node in the middle of range of a coordinator and want to see that the data is send to a coordinator. 

But, when I test the initial SampleApp code, it did not work.

How can i do for a router node?

I am the same problem... I would make a router that received the data from the end-device ed re-send the message to the coordinator.

I believe all of u must have installed TI's Zstack 2.4.0 (for cc2520) on your systems. Actually, i am facing difficulties in installing it. 

I have tries it twice but every time, during the installation, it gives an exception during the installation part of '.NET 1.1' (as it needs this) and demands a debug of this exception. Debugging does not give any benefits and hence the process quits and there is no software installation. Any ideas on what is going wrong?

Thanks a lot for your help. I have some questions: do I have to make some modifications in the code to have a coordinator that meets my needs?  I have to have 6 different coordinators to start 6 different networks on six different channels. I guess the modifications need to be done in f8wconfig file. is that right? Can I use only one coordinator to start networks one by one?

Hi Leila,

To set 6 coordinators to form 6 different networks just allocate different

PANIDs by changing value of ZDAPP_CONFIG_PAN_ID to some other

value than 0xFFFF.

You may also consider to change the default channel per coordinator, as

it'll reduce the collisions in case where 6 different networks located in the

same area. And you are right, these setting located in f8wConfig.cfg.

You may also implement the solution of 6 networks started with the same

same coordinator, however I'll kindly advise you to stick with the 6 different

Coordinators for 6 different ZigBee networks idea.

Is there any code to send data bidirectionally(coordinator-><-router )?

You can use AF_DataRequest to do it. If you want to send data from router to coordinator, the destination short address of coordinator always is 0x0000. To send data from coordinator to router, you need to assign the short address of destination router to AF_DataRequest API.

I would like to do something like you but i don't success !!

I have a system with two enddevices and one coordinator : 

|ED(1)| --------------------- |ED(2)| ----------------------------|Coord|

My first enddevice is too long the coordinator.

I think that my second enddevice could be a router and pass the data from ED to Coord and from Coord to ED.

But unfortunately I don't know how.

I have CC2530 module so I change config to ED(2) and I choose f8wRouter.cfg, I change some option of configuration of ED(2) but it seems to me that it makes no difference. My ED(2) still works as before.

How I can do to relay data beetween ED(1) and coordinator ?

ZigBee ED can not perform as router. Therefore I think that in your case

RD2 have to be replaced with ZR (router).

ZR means zigbee router. Igor suggest you to put ZR between your coordinator and ED(1).

It is pretty straight forward, replace ED2 with a ZigBee device flushed with ZigBee router Firmware.

I try to change my ED to ZR but I failed.

To config project I add ZDO_ROUTER in C/C++ Compiler->Preprocessor->Defined symbols, I change in Linker->ExtraOptions to -C $PROJ_DIR$\..\..\..\Libraries\TI2530DB\bin\Router-Pro.lib. In Tools file I change f8wEndDevice to f8wRouter. But it still doesn't work.

Do you know what I need to change more ?

In each TI's example, there is a routerEB project in workspace. You can switch it from EndDeviceEB to routerEB easily. Would you specify which example you project is based on?

I saw the example but it hasn't helped me so much. For my project I started with Samples/GenericApp, it's the example I think.

Since you use GenericApp example, you can choose routerEB configuration directly. Have a look at the image.

Yes I do that but my coordinator receive nothing from my ED and my ED receive nothing from my coordinator.

And I added some functionality at my router and it works, router "speaks" with coord. 

So I don't know why router doesn't relay data to or from ED.

I would suggest you to use packet sniffer to have a look on what happens over the air.

I am using CC2530 zigbee coordinator and router network.Now I want to get temperature

readings and for that matter i am using built-in sensor module of zigbee.But I have to use

a separate collector and sensor zigbee module.I want to use a router as a sensor module

and coordinator as a collector module.

Basically I want to merge Coordinator and collector codes, and router and sensor codes.

Can anybody suggest me a solution for this problem or any other solution to sense temperature

without adding any more zigbee device to my network.
