Hi,

I'm new to ZigBee and TI programming, used to program Arduino. I red many of the articles but not sure I understand the ZAP and ZNP.

First I would like to upload the blinking LED code to CC2530. I downloaded the code from this forum, which seems all right but for whatever reason it doesn't blink the LED.

If I understand correctly the steps are as follows:

1; create a HEX file from the BINKIG LED code (I used KEIL)

2; using cc debugger and Smart RF Flash programmer ( version 1) upload the HEX file.

My questions:

1; Is this the right way to do it, or did I miss something?

2; Can i use cc2530 on its own as a microcontroller as well as a ZigBee device, or do I need a separate microcontroller for it?

1. TI Z-Stack use IAR so I suppose you should use IAR as IDE. You can use SampleLight and SampleSwitch examples in Z-Stack as a starting point.

2. Yes, you can use CC2530 on its own as a microcontroller as well as a ZigBee device.

Hi Chen,

when I open the samplelight.eww and want to "debug without downloading" the error comes up.:"The configuration does not have debuggable output."

Can you please put me in the right direction what does this mean?

What Z-Stack version and IAR version do you use? Can you also do a screenshot of your issue and attach it here?

I have downloaded the

Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a.44539

and

Z-Stack 3.0.2.

I'm using IAR Embedded Workbench for 8051 IDE, 10.30.1

Hi Chen,

hmmm sorry not sure I understand the question. Where is the Z-stack, and where do I find out which version is it?

I bought an Ebyte E-18-TBL (dongle) test board module with CC2530 in it.

The flash programmer recognise both the CC debugger as well as the chip.

If I understand correctly the Z-stack is a hex file that needs to be uploaded to the chip. Am I correct?

Z-Stack is the Zigbee SDK and examples provided by TI. If you don’t download and install Z-Stack from TI, where do you get SampleLight example for IAR?

For Z-Stack 1.2.2a, you should use IAR EW8051 9.10.

The current version that is available from IAR's website is 10.30.1

I will try to get the 9.10 and will come back to you

If you download and install Z-Stack 3.0.2, you can use IAR EW8051 10.30.
