CC2652P: Multiple network on single chip

Hi ,

I am planning to develop a Gateway using CC2652P ZNP which act as ZigBee coordinator.

My network consist of ZigBee 3.0 devices,HA devices and SE devices.

Since it is not possible to joining the ZigBee 3.0 based coordinator with SE devices do you have any feature present which support multiple zigbee network on single chip ?

Network 1 will be having ZigBee 3.0 security.

Network 2 will be having SE security which support CBKE.

If you mean to run these two Zigbee 3.0 and SE network at the same time, I am afraid you need to use two Zigbee SOC for two different tasks.

What if I do not require ZigBee 3.0 and SE same time on the coordinator?

Is it possible to configure the coordinator either as Zigbee 3.0 device or as Smart energy devices at a time?

I am ok to do a firmware upgrade if it is necessary.

Even if you could determine the Specification to operate during start-up, I don't know whether the CC2652P has enough flash to store both stack versions. This use case has not been evaluated since there is no Zigbee SE stack available from TI.

If you can put both Zigbee 3.0 and SE stack on an external EEPROM and load software when it boots up according to your request, it should be feasible. But as We had replied, TI doesn’t provide SE stack for CC2652 platform so you still need to do this by yourself.

"This use case has not been evaluated since there is no Zigbee SE stack available from TI." - Does it mean that TI does not support smart energy profile ? One of the earlier thread you have mentioned that the smart energy profile is part of the SDK by default.

Like i mentioned above I am ok to have two seperate images for zigbee 3.0 and smart energy profile which can be upgraded based on the configuration.

As I know, TI doesn't support SE profile now. I remember Ryan mentioned SE profile can be run on TI device by 3rd party such as DSR.

We were previously discussing the Smart Energy ZCL which TI provides in zcl_se.c/h and zcl.h, however the Zigbee Specification itself is a different matter.

ZCL spec and Zigbee SE profile spec are different. I suppose Ryan was referring to ZCL spec.

If the smart energy specification is not implemented what is the use having only the clusters ?

So I will not be able to join an off the shelf smart energy profile based device to a TI chipset which act as a coordinator?

Based on your reply what I understood is TI does not support smart energy profile stack. Which also says it is not possible to join an off the shelf smart energy profile based device to TI chipset.

1. Zigbee 3.0 and HA profile also support metering devices so the metering clusters are defined in ZCL spec which is for application and cab be shared by different profile.

2. Yes, you won't be able to join an off the shelf smart energy profile based device to a TI chipset which act as a coordinator.
