CC1352R: DMM CC1352R Zbee + Easy Link

Part Number: CC1352R

Hi!

Is there a possibility of having Zigbee and Easy Link both on 2.4Ghz running at the same time using the DMM?

From what I read in the DMM this should be possible, but I could not find any provided guidance, I guess I need to start from the BLE + WSN (DMM integration) tutorial.
The idea is to use the WSN in commissioning for the Zigbee (to send only some small data packets to configure the controller network, then once Zbee commissioning is done, switch to Zigbee for encrypted and true mesh communication).
What do you think about this approach?

Thanks!

  • Hi Cosmin,

Typically it would be recommended to use BLE provisioning, TouchLink, or Install Codes as alternative Zigbee commissioning procedures.  If you want to use WSN instead then you will need to merge the BLE + WSN and BLE + Zigbee DMM examples.  The DMM User's Guide and SimpleLink Academy Labs will help with this but TI does not have any available examples to reference.  Are you planning to apply this approach to all Zigbee node types (Coordinator, Router, and End Device)?

    Regards,
    Ryan

  • Hi Ryan,

Thank you for your response. I agree that BLE provisioning would be ideal, and it is what we do right now, but due to the additional certification requirements I want to change the provisioning to WSN. Also because of some configuration that is done before network joining I cannot use the install Codes or Touchlink.

The network will be comprised of the coordinator and router devices. We need this kind of approach only on the router devices, the coordinator is connected to the Cloud via a separate NCP.
I will familiarize more with the DMM and try to merge the 2 stacks.

Thank you for your great advices!
