CC2652P: SDK 4.30 ZNP UART no response after running a while.

We see an issue that SDK 4.30 ZNP UART would be no response (UART TX/RX doen't work at all) after running a while. In SDK 4.40 release note, I see an fixed item "ZIGBEE-1172 : NPI memory leak from buffer deallocation order" and want to confirm is this related to our issue?

Hi Yikai,

This is a possibility, the issue was raised in this E2E thread and is resolved by modifying the end of NPITask_sendBufToStack from npi_task.c as such:

    }

//    OsalPort_free(pMsg);                                REMOVE THIS LINE
    OsalPort_msgDeallocate(pMsg->pBuf);
    OsalPort_free(pMsg);                                //PLACE HERE INSTEAD

    return (msgStatus);
}

How long did it take for you to observe the issue occur? This information will help for future stability testing purposes.

It usually happens less than 24 hours but I suspect it related to how frequently the MT command communicates. I see this patch already apply to SDK 4.40 and will do some tests to verify if this patch fixes our issue.

Thanks for providing this additional information. Yes, this fix is already applied to SIMPLELINK-CC13X2-26X2-SDK v4.40. Please let us know the result of your tests.

We tested this with SDK 4.40 and don't see similar issue for now. I would mark this thread as solved first.
