WL1835MOD: WL1835MOD RED certification BER test for BT/BLE

Part Number: WL1835MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL18XX-BT-SP

Hi,

I am using TI firmware BTS 11.8.32 and the corresponding xml for BT initialization.

When I try to run the BT BER test as given in the section (BER Test - Between Two Wilink Devices) in the following link

using HCITester.

I get an error, expected 0x7 recieved 0x11

and unknown HCI command error.

Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong in BER test ?

17:53:51.594 ERROR - Packet Size. Got: 7 (0x07), Expected: 25 (0x19)
17:53:51.604 ERROR - File: "D:\CE_Testing\bt_perf_test\Rx_mode.txt", Line: 15
17:53:51.604 ERROR - Status mismatch. Expected: 0x00, Got: 0x01 (Unknown HCI Command)

  • Ganesh,

We have assigned your post to the relevant engineer and will get back to you.
  • Ganesh,

Please make sure that the correct *.xml file is being used by the HCITester.

The event size errors can happen because of mismatch in the xml file. Moreover, are you correctly initializing the WL18xx controller (loading the bts service pack) before running these test scripts?

You can find the right files in the WL18xx-BT-SP download.

    Best regards,

    Vihang

  • Ganesh,

Has this issue been resolved yet?

  • Hi,

I still am not sure I understood how I will be able to configure for BER/adaptivity test for BT and BLE. I dont have a CBT with me in my office.

    The questions are,

Can CBT configure the DUT into appropriate test modes using LMP (wirelessly) or does it need a USB connection to configure the device into test modes.

If it cant how can I load the BTS and give control to the CBT ? (How will I keep the power alive during switching of USB). I dont have a work-around for that now.

I dont have CBT/CMW with me in my office.

Any further inputs from you or any scripts you wrote to put the device into test modes for the CBT which you can share with me will be of amazing use and help.

Please let me know how to do this a bit more detailed.

    Thanks,

    Ganesh

  • VIhang,

    Any update on this ?

The CBT configures the DUT into appropriate test modes using the LMP. But before the CBT can do that, the DUT must be properly initialized. The initialization includes running the TIInit_11.8.32.bts service pack for the WL183xMOD DUT and setting up the DUT for connection with the CBT. This can be done by the HCITester running on the PC.

    Please see the above comment.

After loading the service pack and the DUT script (3 commands), the CBT should be able to take over the test over LMP messages. For more details, please work with your test house and CBT manufacturer.
