Hello,

I have a question about how I would be able to program a tiny CC2530 board like the one below. It doesn't seem to have a port to connect a CC-Debugger. How would I be able to program this small CC2530 board? I have been using IAR 8051 and I am trying to scale down on all my electrical devices, but I also need to be able to upload my program. Is there any links or helpful suggestions as to how to program this board? I would really appreciate any replies. Thank you.

You should contact module manufacturer to know which pins are debug pins to connect with CC Debugger.

I have this schematic of the board, but they are all just pin ports and don't explain anything about ports that can interface with the CC-Debugger. Does this show anything that could be crucial? Is there any website that shows how a CC2530 is connect to the CC-Debugger, such as a PCB layout or schematic?

You should connect CC debugger DC pin to P2.2, DD pin to P2.1, RESETn pin to reset. You also need to connect VDD and GND.

Is that it? So I only need to connect 4 pins? Should I also connect VCC to VCC and GND to GND as well to power the CC2530 board from the debugger?

There are five pins to connect, DC pin to P2.2, DD pin to P2.1, RESETn pin to reset, VDD to VDD, and GND to GND.

Below is a diagram of a CC2530 next to the CC-Debugger. What about the rest of the pins on the CC-Debugger?

You don't have to connect those pins.

You can connect VCC 3.3V from debugger to VCC on CC2530 module.

Alright. Also will the 5 pins you specified for connecting the CC-Debugger to the CC2530 work with any kind of CC2530 board?

Yes, it supposed to work for all CC2530.

Why are there other pins on the CC-Debugger if I don't need to use them to program the CC2530 board?

Those pins are for other chips. You can refer to CC Debugger user guide at www.ti.com/.../swru197h.pdf

Perhaps I accidently didn't wire the way you said to and that's why it worked yesterday. However now when I wire it up the 5 pins like you said, the IAR software isn't able to recognize my CC2530 device. Why is that so?
