AFE5809EVM: AFE5809GUI configuration

Part Number: AFE5809EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE5809

Hello,

I want to save all the values that I edit in AFE5809GUI to AFE5809 chip, so everytime I powerup a device it loads my last saved values (SPI logic for each block of AFE) instead of default '0'.

Is there a document that can help me to understand GUI ?  I couldn't found this info in datasheet or maybe I missed it, Can someone please help me.

Thanks.

  • Hi Vatsal,

There is no way to power up the device with the last saved values.

However you could use the Recording feature provided in the GUI to save a sequence of commands and loads the commands from the saved file after starting the GUI for the next time.

Here is the procedure to follow:

    1. Start the GUI
    2. Click on 'Software Reset' button to issue a reset and load the EVM default values
    3. Click on 'Record Commands' button
    4. Configure the AFE.
    5. Click on 'Save Commands' button. This will open up a dialog box to save the file. Choose the folder and save the file as an *.cfg file.
    6. Restart the GUI.
    7. Click on 'Software Reset' button
    8. Load the previously saved configuration file by clicking on 'Exec CMD file' button.
  • Hi Praveen,

ok, What about the register's / profile ram values?

So, It says it doesn't have default values, Once I configure my AFE chip using GUI all values in register will be same after power off?
