Linux/DRA746: Error with glReadPixels

Hi Team,

We are getting following error when calling glReadPixels ( before eglSwepBuffer call) with parameters ( GL_BGRA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE) return by glGetIntegerv API.

“PVR:(Error): glReadPixels: Failed to get strided data [0, ]”

Is this known issue? Could you please suggest to fix this? Our software is based on 3.01.00.03.

Hi Vikash,
I have reproduced this issue with weston-simple-egl applciation which uses WAYLAND as platform but kmscube application with GBM as platform works and glReadPixel returns no error.
I will try to get details on this issue.

Please confirm if the issue is seen with Wayland client application? Or Weston? Are you able to get a screenshot from Weston? This will use glReadPixels for reading back the color buffer.

Hi Anand,

It is with wayland client. To be specific we are trying to add screenshot feature in browser for debugging purpose and we encounter this error.

Hi Vikash,

We have fixed the issue with glReadPixel() with wayland-client. We will plan to release the SGX-UM binaries in post-release updates.

Hi Vikash,
The patch for this issue is still under review. TI will share the commit ID corresponding to this fix on git.ti.com/.../omap5-sgx-ddk-um-linux once the patch is merged.

Thanks for sharing. Could you tell me if replacing "libpvrws_WAYLAND.so.1.14.3699939" from above branch is enough to fix this issue or not? OR we completely need to change the branch and commit id in our bibake recipe? Does it compatible with KM module which we are using as follows?

Currently we are using as follows for um and km.

Hi Vikash,
What is the SDK you are using? Is it not PSDKLA3.04? From you recipe files looks like you are on an SDK based on kernel 4.9.
We have added the fix on 1.14.3699939_k4.4 branch only.

TI is yet to add fix on UM 1.14.3699939 branch
You can compare the commit messages between 1.14.3699939 and 1.14.3699939_k4.4.

Did you try just copying ibpvrws_WAYLAND.so.1.14.3699939 to root filesystem? Ideally it should work. But TI always recommends
copying entire targetfs/jacinto6evm/ directory from omap5-sgx-ddk-um-linux

Hi Ram,

We are based on processor-sdk-linux-automotive 03_03_00_03. We will try replacing single lib and update you.

Do you know when the same fix will be available on UM 1.14.3699939 branch?

If you are on 3.03 PSDKLA, just replacing ibpvrws_WAYLAND.so should work.
I will update you on the fix availability on UM 1.14.3699939
