How to keep u-boot splash display during kernel booting

Hi, All

Splash display is required to keep turning on during kernel booting until user application running. But clocks are stopped when kernel start up, and display timing is resumed with tilcdc driver loaded. Are there any way to keep the clocks output to LCDC so that u-boot splash can keep on? Thanks!

You will need to modify the kernel initialization in order to do this. Another approach can be to modify u-boot, disabling console output and u-boot prompt timeout. Then you can put on your splash screen directly when kernel starts, as u-boot will execution will be very short.

Yes, your are right. With some modification made in kernel initilization, u-boot splash can be kept until linux logo comes out.

Hello Biser,

I am using a Beaglebone black board for my application. My application is executing after 20 seconds from power on. For this much of time I want to keep the linux logo(penguin logo) appearing on screen before my application starts. Right now it is appearing for 2 seconds. What modification should I do to achieve 2 seconds to 20 seconds?? Thanking you.
