After installing a Plugin, Problems starting CCSv5.1

Hi alls,

i installed a Plugin called Subclipse (tigris.org) after i installed it and restarted CCSv5 it wont work. Getting the following error message in the log file:

!MESSAGE Job found still running after platform shutdown.  Jobs should be canceled by the plugin that scheduled them during shutdown: org.eclipse.ui.internal.AbstractWorkingSetManager$10

Any ideas how to uninstall the plugin or get CCS to work again?

cheers

  • Hello Stefan,

The message snippet that you included is most likely not the root cause of the issue. Could you attach complete .log file? Also, could you describe a bit more as to what does not work? i.e. starting CCS fails main windows does not open, Ccs starts and main window opens but then it is unresponsive, ccs starts and main window opens but project import/build does not work.

    Thanks,
    Martin

  • Hi Stefan,

if you go to Help->About Code Composer Studio do you see the plug in there?  Are you using the latest version of CCSv5.1? What issues has this caused with CCS?

    Best Regards,

    Lisa

  • CCS does not start.

I will attach the whole log file maybe it helps to solve the problem.

  • Hello Stefan,

The .log that sent helped identify the issue. We have a couple of reports of this problem. The fix is to re-run "\baserepo\vcredist_x86_2005.exe" executable that is part of CCS install image. You may need to reboot the machine if there are pending OS patches.  We are not quite sure what the root cause is yet, but it appears that some event causes the libraries that are part of this run time distribution to be uninstalled or somehow removed from the OS.  Would you be able to provide some information as to your setup such as OS version, patches, maybe windows Event Log information? Any information that you provide might help in identifying what the root cause is.

    Thanks,
    Martin

  • Hello Stefan,

Could you also check if "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable - KB2467175" appears in your Add/Remove Programs list?

    Thank you,
    Martin

  • Hi,

after execution Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable - KB2467175 appears here.

  • I've had a very similar problem while compiling the 'User Experience' examples for the F5527 USB experimenter board. Unfortunately the fix above didn't work. The post is here.
