CCS install, nothing changes in eclipse

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Installed CCS today (lateste version). right before i installed eclipse from eclipse.org, also latest x86 version.

i open eclipse, and there's the CSS plugin, there's "Code Composer Studio" category in the preferences dialog (albeith without anything!)

new -> project does not show anything related to CCS.

what else should i do?

Also, will this be more productive for debugging launchpad stuff than my current msp430-gcc setup in linux? or am i just walking in circles?

  • You don't have to install Eclipse BEFORE installing CCS because CCS installation files INCLUDES eclipse.

So you should run "ccstudio" from the Code Composer Studio installation path (ccsv5).

  • Hello,

Samuele gave good advice .... simply install CCS, you do not need to install Eclipse as well or separately.  If you have installed CCS over Eclipse, have a look at this wiki topic as well.

  • I should have guessed it included eclipse for the size of the archive...

anyway, i saw the checkbox to install in a existing eclipse, and thought i had to install eclipse before the install so it would already make the arrangements during install...

i now removed everything and installed from scratch and used the included eclipse install (i would me mildly annoyed if i already have a need for eclipse in this box). everything seems to be fine now. but i still have no idea why the project class didn't show up on the 1st try since everything seemed to have installed just fine.

thanks for the clarifications. i think i'm set now.

  • no problem at all.  that's what we're here for!

    Best regards,
    Lisa
