About DM81XX EVM Schematic for USB and MMC power switch

Hi ,

For DM81XX the USB MMC's power control issue.Please help confirm, thank you

1.Why EVM Board schematic for USB-side and MMC-side power switch not the same? can use the same?ex：TPS2065DR
2. if the MMC1_POW not in use, direct floating it?
3.mmc port if only used to store images, and do not use to boot, it is suggest which port?

Hi Huang,

1. No particular difference between the two power switches:

TPS2065 is 1A, EN active high, and EN high level NOT 1.8V compatible.

MIC94060 is 2A, EN active high, and EN high level 1.8V compatible.

I suppose the decision maker will be whether you are driving the EN signal from 1.8V source.

2. In the EVM MMC1_POW is not connected to the processor, the switch is always on, EN signal pulled high by R350. As for unused processor pins, you can check section 4.4 of the DM814X datasheet.

3. You should check this with your software people, which port will be most convenient from software point of view. For hardware there is no difference.

Another issue, do you know there can be get the power consumption data for MMC1 Port? Thank you.

Hi Huang,

Sorry for late reply, we had a long weekend here. Power consumption data isn't published for the different processor modules. You can get an estimate from the power estimation spreadsheet:
