H263 codec parameter setting for DM8168

Hi OC,

You just need to set the staticParams ->useShortVideoHeader = 1; for getting the H.263 stream on DM8168. There is no other parameter setting required than the above mentioned one to get the H.263 stream. 

Please share the bit-stream you generated with the above setting. Do you get any error code with the above setting?

Dear Karthick,

I also set the encodingpreset to USERDFINED along with setting useShortHeader = 1. I assume USERDFINED mean VENC_XDM_USER_DEFINED(the value is 3).

The codec still output MPEG4 stream when I set staticParams->videnc2Params.encodingPreset = VENC_XDM_USER_DEFINED and  staticParams ->useShortVideoHeader = 1.

Do you have any idea for that?

The values what you set are correct in terms of codec perspective. Please share the encoded stream with the above settings. Also we need to check if someone is changing the value of useShortVideoHeader before it reaches to codec.

Thanks for sharing the bit-stream. We did not get any clue from the stream you shared with us. You just need to set the useShortVideoHeader to 1 to get the H.263 stream from codec perspective.

Which framework do you use to configure the codec setting? I think it is better to post this query on the respective forum. Codec wise, your setting is perfect. So someone above the codec may be changing the settings after you set.

just set staticParams->videnc2Params.size = sizeof(IMPEG4ENC_Params);

than the staticParams ->useShortVideoHeader configuration can be set to encoder.
