Hi, has anyone seen an OMAP3730 capturing images larger than 5MP?
TI says "Enhanced image quality supporting up to 12-megapixel image capture" on this page:
Would love some independent verification though!

The DM3730 Camera interface will most likely be limited to the maximum pixel clock you can achieve between the CSI controller and the sensor. If you want to capture high resolution pictures at an acceptable frame rate, you will need to either have the OMAP3730 provide a high frequency pixel clock to the sensor, or have the sensor supply this high frequency clock. Anyway you will have to make sure this clock frequency is within the supported clock range for both ends.
For a fixed pixel clock, you will have to find the right trade-off between resolution and framerate depending on your needs. You may also consider using interlaced mode if you want to achieve higher resolution/framerate for a lower pixel clock. In the end the highest resolution you can achieve will depend on many parameters such as : the sensor, its supported pixel clock frequency, the interface between the sensor and the CPU, the data mode, and many other hardware considerations.
Let us know if you want us to help you evaluate these possibilities on a given sensor interfaced to the DM3730.
