OMAP3530 EVM SDRAM GEL

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

Has anybody figured out the mods to omap3430_sdrc_configs.gel so that the C6x+ core on the OMAP3530 EVM can view all 128 MB of SDRAM when using CCS?  The current GEL config only supports 64 MB and I can't find the datasheet for the Samsung POP memory.  I have tried modifying the RAS and CAS values but can't find the right combination to avoid memory wrapping.  Thanks.

  • I have not verified this modifying the GEL file yet, but the value used for SDRC_MCFG in the x-loader source (OMAP35x_SDK_1.0.2\board_utilities\x-load) looks to be 0x02584019 found as the define of SDP_SDRC_MDCFG_0_DDR in x-load/include/asm/arch-omap3/mem.h. This makes more sense as a 128MB memory configuration as it has a RAMSIZE field value of 0x40 = 64 which is measuring the size in 2MB chunks for a total size of 128MB, whereas the GEL file has this field as 0x20 translating to 64MB. I suspect you could get the GEL file to address 128MB if you replaced the SDRC_MCFG0_VALUE with 0x02584019 so it acts more like the x-loader.

  • Bernie,

Your idea seems to work fine.  Thanks!
