AM3505 LPDDR

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3517, AM3505

We ran in to an issue with the LPDDR SDRAM memory that we are using.

The issue is this: We appear to be able to read and write data out of the LPDDR, but we cannot execute out of DDR. The EVM is OK. The read and write is only possible with the latency set very high.

(1) Are you aware of any other TI customers that are using an LPDDR together with the AM3505? Our memory is a Toshiba MT46H16M32LFB5-6 IT:C TR. Is there an existence proof that this type of memory will work with the AM3505? Would it work with the AM3517?

(2) We have not hooked up the Strobe lines (SDRC_STRBEN0, SDRC_STRBEN_DLY0, SDRC_STRBEN1,  SDRC_STRBEN_DLY1) on the AM3505. My understanding was that they are not used for a LPDDR. Is that incorrect?

Yes, we have customers currently using LPDDR AM35x

For LPDDR you need to use external strobe per Advisory 1.1.44 in the errata:
