My boot image is divided into several sections such as .text, .cinit, .bios and so on. Could I build a monolithic image of only one section? From my understand I could do it with AISgen but this tool does not support HPI bootload mode.

Thats true, for D800K003 there is no option for No Config. But your host can still ignore all other AIS commands and simply transfer the data in the Section Load commands of the output binary file.
