DM36x Face Detect Performance

Hi,

Is there an equation based on internal clocks, image resolution, etc... that I can use to determine about how long the face detect algorithm will take for a given image?  I would like to be able to see how many face detect operations I can run on incoming video.

Thanks,

Randy Scheifele

  • Hi,

The number of faces detected does not adversely impact the performance or time taken per frame by the Face Detection engine. It is a hardware IP and lot of processing for face detections happen in parallel.

I dont have an equation handy but have a snippet of datasheet for FD that i am attaching here. This is for DM365 where Face Detection engine is running at 135 MHz (half of VPSS clock of 270MHz).
