AM335x-Starter kit connection Problem

Hi,

I have problem in connecting the AM335x Starter kit with CCSv5.2.1. When i tried connecting the board to the host PC, the system detects the board as two devices, "xds100v2" and "subarctic" devices. I downloaded and installed usb serial converter drivers from FTDI and i cannot find the drivers for "subarctic". Also the emulator used specified for AM335x starter kit by CCS is "Spectrum Digital xds510 usb", but the PC finds board emulator as xds100v2.

Please suggest the correct procedure for connecting the Starter kit with CCSv5.2.1

Here is a link from the Linux training that hopefully might help you, the connection procedures are similar. Continue following the starterware wiki concerning setting up the GEL file. Linux debug requires not using the gel file.

It sounds like you are at the target configuration stage, the Starterkit EVM has a built-in XDS100v2 JTAG interface.

For the "SUBARCTIC" device, USB0 is probably in the boot order. If USB0 is in the boot order, the boot ROM configures it for an RNDIS device with one of the descriptors having SUBARCTIC in it. If you have a Linux source tree you can go to Documentation/usb and copy linux.inf to your Windows PC and use that inf to install the RNDIS driver.
