Porting SYS/BIOS to Beaglebone

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3352

Hi,

We need some advice about using SYS/BIOS on BeagleBone.
Currently we are choosing the right EVM for our customer to evaluate AM3352.
Our customer needs external ports like SPI(2 ports),I2C,UART,Ethernet etc
and they would like to use SYS/BIOS.
As you know BeagleBone is the best option as it has many external pins available.
But unfortunately SYS/BIOS based sample codes are not provided for BeagleBone.

Just in case we would like to know whether it is easy to port SYS/BIOS to BeagleBone
and are there any difficulties or things to be considered before deciding to purchase
beaglebone instead of IDK/ICE.

Best Regards.
Prad.

While SYS/BIOS is already ported to the AM335x and the kernel itself would probably come up pretty easily on whichever BeagleBone you are considering, the bigger question would be all the I/O you mention. We don't have a full TI-RTOS port to the AM335x that includes SPI, UART, 12C or Ethernet drivers. We may have something in 4-6 months time but certainly not before that. If the customer needs an RTOS + middleware solution for the AM335x, there are a lot of third-party solutions out there.
