Why is the block diagram of TCA9555 and PCA9555 different?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9555, TCA9555

The customer pointed out the difference of block diagram of TCA9555 and PCA9555.

Is both really different?

  • This is a simplified block diagram, but there are differences between the interupt logic of the TCA9555 and the PCA9555.

The TCA9555 has improved INT logic, and should be used in place of the PCA9555.

    From the PCA9555 webpage....

TCA9555 - The device has the SAME FUNCTIONALITY and PINOUT as the compared device but is NOT an exact equivalent.  It is an enhanced version of the PCA9555 with an extended supply voltage range and performance enhancements related to Power-On Reset and Interrupt.

  • I see. I will answer with below to customer.
"It is not a errata in the data sheet, there is actually a difference of the int circuit for improvement."

    Thank you!
