Hello,

So i've been an arduino guy for a long time, but I need to branch out and get started with standalone projects.

I have worked with the TLC5940 and have recently gotten a MSP430 Launchpad.

The arduino IDE has a TLC5940 Library avaliable to any programmer and I was wondering how i could use the TLC5940 using a MSP430.

Does anybody have any solutions? Is there any easy library that I can use for the TLC? What will I have to do to be able to control a TLC5940 with the MSP430?

Maybe you can port the Arduino library if it is available as source code.

In out devices I use MSPs as well as an ATMega128 (a AFAIK a bigger brother of the Arduino processor) and much of my code is shared between the two processor lines. Only the very-low-level stuff is individually coded (e.g. the access of the UART or SPI logic), but the high-level parts (such as configuring devices, reading/writing the I2C RTC, even MMC/SD card read/write) is identical for both processor lines.
So you should be able to re-use much of the TLC library and only need to port the low-level stuff (where you will surely find some help here in the forum - make a forum search first, then ask for detailed help)
