LaunchPad_Temp_GUI.exe

My MSP430 LaunchPad is working correctly (of course the red and green LEDs are reversed from the video example).  If I connect to COM15 (the USB serial port) with Hyperterminal (2400 baud) I see single characters that appear to start with '?' or '@' and then proceed to the alphabetic characters 'A', 'B', 'C', etc. as the temperature increases and then back down in value as the temperature decreases.  However, the GUI only puts up a screen showing my two serial ports and COM15, the MSP serial port, but there is no way to select the COM15.  Mouse clicks do not work nor does entering a 2 (third port listed) or COM15.  What is the secret of selecting the desired port?

  • It seems that you have to push the little S2 switch on the board before entering the temperature program.  Then press the number key corresponding to your com port, and then press enter.  If you don't press S2 first, it will just hang giving no indication of what the problem is.  Wasted lots of time on this one.

  • Hi

Reset and Temp Demo not working

funny problem - I can't run my temp demo anymore after writing and successfully running LED code - RED/GREEN, vary on off/frequency etc and controlled by USB and CCS4. Tried pressing both switch P1.3 and Reset to no avail before starting the demo program. The program hangs. changed computers and same happens. please advise.
