Tiva launchpad

Hi,

The new launchpad looks really cool (full speed USB OTG!). I only wish those awful micro USB connectors were gone!

PWM & Encoder hardware looks great but Ethernet MAC instead would be much better.

  1. The layout looks identical. Can I "upgrade" my current Stellaris launchpad by replacing Stellaris chip with Tivo one?
  2. Is there USB ROM bootloader?

Thanks,
Maciej

  • Maciej,

Here are answers to your questions:

    1. Yes, you could upgrade your device in theory, but there are circuit differences on the boards. There are changes for USB OTG and host mode.  There is also a fix for an errata on older silicon revisions.
    2. Yes, there is a USB bootloader.  See this document for more information: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spmu134o/spmu134o.pdf

    Thanks,

    Sean

  • Sean,

Thank you for your answers. Those are great news. Fortunately for me and other interested Tivo websites seem to be online now and I can find all information on my own.

    Regards,
    Maciej
