Can you further clarify your question on performance for mailbox system?
What OS are you using ? What is your use-case or criteria for "performance" for a mailbox IP?

Hi Mukul,

I am using a Linux 4.4.32 on both A15 and SYS/BIOS on both C66x.

We send a burst of messages periodically from ARM to DSPx and we'd like to characterize the link.

e.g.: is 100 messages (each 100bytes) every 10ms between ARM and DSP bidirectionally (.i.e. full duplex) possible?

I am going to point this thread to my software colleagues to help address if we have any benchmark data on ARM-DSP communication.
I am hoping you are familiar with the following page/collateral on ARM-DSP communication

From your use-case, would IPC be the way you choose to communicate?

Hi, Marco,

We don't have such document per se, but we do have IPC MessageQBench executable in the released filesystem under /usr/bin. It measures round trip time for 1000 messages. The corresponding dsp images are in lib/firmware/ipc/ti_platforms_evmDRA7XX_dsp(x)/messageq_single.xe66
