0-5V pressur sensor -> FDA -> ADS1256

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1256, LMP8350, THS4531

Hi,

I'm interfacing a pressure sensor, with a 0-5v signal, to an ADS1256. What I'm looking for is a FDA that can turn sensors 0-5v signal in to a differential signal
of +-2.5v with a zero bias at 2.5v.

Would it be possible to use the LMP8350, connect it according to fig.32 in it's datasheet and supply Vcom with 2.5v?

Any other suggestions? I'm new to this so any hints or ideas are welcome.

  • Niklas,

    You could do that, but I'd be aware that the LMP8350 requires higher supplies and the input and output ranges may be limited.

    I think a better device to try might be the THS4531. It can operate on a single +5V supply like the ADS1256 and has much better input and output ranges. Note that with this and other differential amplifiers, the input impedance will be comparatively low, and you'll need to consider the output impedance of the sensor.

    Certainly there are other options. If this doesn't work for you, post back.
