OPA2320: Cage Code & Temp Range for OPA2320AIDGK

Part Number: OPA2320

Good afternoon all!

I'm reviewing a design for a colleague and I noticed a couple of things that could use some answers.

1) What is the US Government Cage Code for TI with respect the to the OPA2320?  When I search "Cage Code, Texas Instruments", I get several different Cage Codes, and I assume that is because the different TI groups took out different ones as they formed.  Whatever the case, if someone knows the correct Cage Code for the TI that makes these parts, I'd appreciate it.  I don't believe this is a QPL/QML listed part.

2) What is the top-end temperature for this device?  Our design requires the top-end temperature range to be +150C ambient with a very low power in extreme circumstances.  The data sheet states that the operating range is -40C to +125C in several places, but then it states in Section 6.1 for the Absolute Maximum Ratings that the Operating Range is +40C to +150C.  Additionally, Digikey seems to think that the OPA2320AIDGKR is only rated to +125C, while the OPA2320AIDGKT is rated to +150C.

Your help in nailing down these issues is appreciated.

  • Tim,

As far as the cage codes go, I am not prevy to such information and I couldn't locate anyone here to know what it is.

To answer your second question, there are multiple temperature ranges associated with all of our products but each has different meaning - see below.

Specified temperature refers to the range where product parameters meet all max/min limits as specified in the product datasheet.

Operating temperature refers to the range where product will operates normally BUT where max/min parameters may NOT be met.

Storage temperature refers to the temperature range under which product may be stored unbiased (no power applied).

  • Hi Tim,

This is the first time a question has been asked on our E2E forum regarding TI's CAGE Codes. It appears that the code is related to high reliability products associated with the DoD. The OPA2320 is not offered in a Hi-Rel version, other than an AEC Q100 automotive version. Nonetheless, I tried to find the CAGE code for TI. I found a link that may answer your question:

    www.ti.com/.../abouthirel.tsp

If this isn't the correct code and is important to you, we'll have to research this more.

  • Thank you for this information. It may work, assuming that this CAGE Code (yes, it's a US Gov't thing; think of it as a vendor identifier) that is in your link is for the TI that makes the OPA2320. I don't need a specifically Hi-Rel version, but that's always a plus. I'll run with this CAGE Code unless you have something different that I could put on my drawing. Thank you.

  • Hi Tim,

I did some further checking this morning on the CAGE code question. It turns out that TI has one corporate CAGE code, 01295. Since there is but the one, this is what you would use for the OPA2320AIDGKR, or OPA2320AIDGKT.
