CC1310: How to clean HIB flag

CC1310 TRM chapter 5.4 describe the noise in TCK pin maybe inducted JTAG power on and "Halt in Boot" flag set. and then CC1310 will hang up during boot procedure after the next FW reset.

Customer product running in a very much EMC noise environment, and their product has not other circuit to wake up CC1310 from hang status. So beside careful design the TCK-pin circuit, customer ask if any firmware code can help avoid CC1310 hang up by HIB flag?

I see the there seem setting to disable JTAG power on by TCK in TRM as below, may I double confirm if it can solve customer concern, and what this register address is?

Hi Terry,

There is no software solution. The CC1310 TRM also states that exiting Halt In Boot can only be done by a pin reset, POR, or through the JTAG interface (Section 5.4). To exit HIB, the external emulator must connect to the device and first HALT, then RESUME the CPU through DAP. After resuming, the program execution continues from the application code (Section 5.6).

That is clear that no software can clear HIB flag or exit HIB status after HIB already be set.

Just may I double confirm if any setting can disable HIB before it set. Because I see TRM say "Detection of activities on the TCK pin (which powers up the JTAG power domain) is the condition for HIB", is it possible HIB will not be set if the firmware always power off JTAG power domain?

Hello Terry,

Power off the JTAG interface or disable the TCK pin by shorting it to the supply voltage.

When you say "Power off the JTAG interface", customer want to know how implement it by firmware? which register or which API function should used?

JTAG_PD is SW-controlled by AON_WUC:JTAGCFG:JTAG_PD_FORCE_ON.

The AON_WUC:JTAGCFG:JTAG_PD_FORCE_ON seem mark under CC26x0 PRCM register in the TRM document, may we double confirm if it should work on CC1310 device?

It is included in both CC26X0 and CC13X0 devices.

Customer has try clear the AON_WUC:JTAGCFG:JTAG_PD_FORCE_ON in their code, and then JTAG cannot connect again, seems the JTAG should be power off. However customer try test several pulse in TCK pin then reset CC1310, device seem still enter HIB mode because hang-up to run customer code. Do you think if it make sense?

How about CC1312 device? If CC1312 is improved to avoid device hang-up in HIB mode?
