  • RE: LM2840: Inverting Buck-Boost Converter: -12vdc possible?

    Akshay Mehta

Hello, Yes, you can use the LM28401/1/2 for the inverting application. For 50mA output current and a low VIN of 3.3VDC, the switch current is calculated to almost 240mA. Therefore you might want to consider using LM2841 instead of LM2840. For a given…

  • RE: About concern to LM2840's light load operation

Unfortunately there is no way to improve DCM efficiency with the LM2840. This device doesn't employ the pulse skipping mode. The output will not be unstable in this mode of operation. Regards, Akshay

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2840 Greetings, I have essentially duplicated Figure 15 of the LM2840 Datasheet. I'm using the LM2841X. I did a careful layout heeding the guidelines. Above a certain input voltage, the output does not regulate when…

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2840 , LM2738 Hi! I am designing a Dc Dc converter with LM2840 that needs to have 12 V at the output (0.1A max). I prepare a prototype (like figure 4 of the datasheet) with the Y version of the IC for reduce inductor…

Hello Collin, I've ordered the TPS54062. Thank you. In the meantime I built the LM2840 circuit and the current went down, but at 24V it is still pulling 4.25mA with just the ADC connected. Without any load on the LM2840, so just XTR117 and LM2840…

Yokota-san, Please allow us some time to check this on the EVM to answer some of your questions. As for the 3rd question, SHDN pin vs Current Limit, we do not recommend to use this method to adjust the current limit. I would use the appropriate part…
