    The output itself is off, but there is an ESD protection diode from the pin to V CC . The output is not overvoltage tolerant. LVC devices (e.g., SN74LVC1 / 2 / 3G06 , SN74LVC06A) have overvoltage-tolerant outputs.

    Hi Elec, TI doesn't sell BJTs, if you are trying to use a buffers/inverters to create an OR gate I suggest the circuit below: I recommend the SN74LVC06A-Q1 or SN74HCS05-Q1 for the open drain inverters and SN74LVC1G04-Q1 for the inverter. Regards…
