Part Number: TL331LV Tool/software: Hi everyone, We are experiencing a puzzling issue with the TL331LVDBVR in some of our circuit boards. During startup, some of the comparators randomly switch their outputs, even though their inputs are well within…

Part Number: TL331LV Tool/software: Hi Input voltage: 0 to 48V for circuit configuration, TL331LVDBVR It is designed to be low output up to 20V and high output over 20V, but low output over 20V also occurs. Thanks

  • RE: TL331: Query on pullup for open collector output

Hello Tejas, As Clemens said, the output of the TL331 can be pulled-up to any voltage up to 36V, regardless of the actual supply voltage. But operating at 5V, I would recommend the TL331LV to get the full input voltage range. But the maximum pull-up voltage…

  • RE: TL331-Q1: Please review the schematicof TL331-Q1, and have some questions

The TL331-Q1 has a limited common-mode input voltage range; with a 5 V supply, you must not use input voltages above 3 V. Using a 12 V supply would work. But for low-voltage applications like this, you should use a low-voltage comparator like the TL331LV…

  • RE: LM358: LM358DGKR Design Question

    Clemens Ladisch
    Clemens Ladisch
Yes; the LM358 does not have rail-to-rail inputs; see the V CM specification. There are opamps optimized for low supply voltages, e.g., TLV9001. But as a comparator, an actual comparator like the LM393LV/TL391LV/TL331LV would work better.

Chase, For 5V and below TL331LV-Q1 or alternate pinout TL391LV-Q1 are easier to use due to rail to rail input and lower Vos error.

Sampath, Here is a lightly tested solution. LM393LV open drain comparator. For single channel, try TL331LV or TL393LV R1 (and supply voltage) sets over current detect threshold. The VF1 voltage. D1, D2, R2, R3 are over voltage protection, ESD/EOS 100k…

Piotr, Alternative comparator TL331LV-Q1 is rail to rail input. It is a different pinout which shouldn't be a problem if the layout isn't set yet. TLV9020-Q1 is available in in same pinout.

Hi Asha, 2. Please note that even though TL331-EP has an extended temperature range when compared to the TL331LV, they are not the same spec. TL331LV is rail-to-rail input has an input common mode voltage range of 0V to VCC, while TL331-EP has an input…

Hello Amber, As Clemens stated, the LMV331 has ESD diodes from the output to the supply pin. The LMV331 output CANNOT be pulled above the supply pin - and will clamp to the supply. Note the the output voltage is referred to the supply and is not an absolute…
