    Hi Max, The PGND and LGND of TPIC6A595 are internally connected. 1ohm resistor can be measured between PGND and LGND. So the device is not recommended to be used in such application. Please refer to the datasheet to connect the PGND and LGND together…

    The TPIC6A595, TPIC6A596 and TPIC2603 are the only devices with this architecture that offer active short circuit protection. None of them are offered in a 16-pin SOIC package.
