  • RE: Will the tpl9201 replace the tpic6b595

    Ron Michallick
    Ron Michallick
Perry, TPL9201 has it's own internal voltage regulator so a higher voltage supply is needed for the VIN pin. TPL9201 has no serial output so chaining devices is not possible.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPL9201 The TPL9201 relay driver has a serial bus for programming it comprising the usual SCLK (serial_clock), MOSI (serial data) and NCS (chip_select_bar) pins. We are trying to drive two of these chips as well as other…

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPL9201 I'm using the TPL9201 relay driver, and they don't respond at all. I've got 12V input on pin 19, 5V out on pin 18 and 6.5V out on pin 13 (a no-connect). RST on pin 14 is floating, but with a pull up to 5V it goes…

I would love to know if anybody has successfully interfaced the TPL9201. I have not been able to make it work. I have a test program that drives ot from the PC parallel port, so I can play with the serial port waveforms. With waveforms exactly…

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPL9201 We are planning to use the TPL9201 as a relay driver. If we are not using the 5V regulator or sync features, can we leave SYN, ZVS,5VOUT,RST,RDELAY and EN1 disconnected?

Loren, There is production savings for 16 pins packages over 18. Also the ULN2003 is more popular than ULN2803. 8 channels may come but I don't have a time table. Perhaps the extra channels can be used as logic inverters or open collector NAND gate…

Mohd, That data is available on the product page in the Quality & Environmental Data section. http://www.ti.com/product/ULN2803A The worst case VCE(SAT) is 1.4V (per data sheet). With 250mA, that is 350mW per channel. With a package TJA of 73C/W, the…
