Part Number: TPS63001
Hi,
We are currently designing a medical device and are using the TPS63001DRCR DC-DC converter to generate a regulated 3.3 V supply for the circuit. Based on our power calculations, the load current should be approximately 2–3 mA. However, during testing we observed an unexpected increase in current consumption up to approximately 10 mA. Is the TPS63001 responsible for this current consumption? Could you please advise whether there are recommended methods or design adjustments to mitigate this excess current draw?

Hello, my systems consume 35 mA, which is a lot. I want to know if the current design with TPS63001DRCR is responsible for this consumption.
I TRIED INCREASING THE c23 TO 20 uF, but I got the same result.

Thank you for your help.

Dear Specialists,
My customer is evaluating TPS63001 and has a question.
I would be grateful if you could advise.

Does the current limit function in Power-Save Mode?
It has been observed that switching occurs intermittently at light loads. I understand this is a Power-Save Mode operation.
When switching occurs multiple times, the inductor peak current sometimes exceeds 2A.
In this case, does the 1800mA current limit not operate?

I appreciate your great help in advance.
Best regards,
Shinichi

I am using the TPS63001 to supply my system. The input voltage to the module comes from a battery charger IC that, under operating conditions provides the battery voltage to the buck-boost. The TPS63001 becomes very hot, especially when the battery voltage drops below 3.3V. What could be the cause? I attach schematic and layout.
R2 is a 120 Ohm resuistor, since I had this one.
The enable signal comes from a slide switch that swithces the EN voltage between GND and Vsys.

Hi,
Output of TPS63001DRCR is going to connect with Vin of LP3874EMP-ADJ/NOPB and TLV70230QDSERQ1.
Do i need to use PTC fuse or other current protection? if i directly connect Vout with Vin of LP3874EMP-ADJ/NOPB and TLV70230QDSERQ1.

Thanks,
Gaurav

In the typical application, there is the addition of R3 & C4. What exactly is their purpose? Originally I thought it was just power filtering bypass capacitor (as recommended in the TPS6303) with a pullup resistor, but 100 ohms is super low to be a pullup. They seem to form a 15kHz lowpass? Are they important to include? WeBench power designer does not add this components to its circuit.

what is the output of regulator TPS63001
this ic is giving 21. mA some thing output current is showing. i want to reduce this consumption in uA. how much current can be reduced in regulator ic from the circuit given below?

Hi Ti Team,

From above application circuit if we increase the R3 value to 4.7K, does if effect the functionality of TPS63001?
If we use Resistor value 4.7K or higher, is there any issue with VINA (Supply voltage for control stage) operation?
What is the operating current and peak current consumption by the VINA pin and EN pin?
Quick Response is appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Anji

Hi Ti Team,
We are facing the ripple issue in the output of the TPS63001 DRCR(3.3V fixed output). Please check the ripple captured image. The ripple variation is from 110 to 120mV with 100mA of load current.
Thanks & Regards,
Anjaiah(Anji)
