Joseph,
The TPS65560 would perform the function you are looking for.
For 12V to 600V stepup you must use a Flyback topology.
The transformer turns ratio determines the output voltage.
TPS65560 has a flyback first stage which provides the control…
I was not thorough enough in my description. I'm talking about the output from the secondary of the external transformer (~1:10) being at 300 V as in the eval board which uses the TPS65560. I could certainly use a different turns ratio to reduce the output…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65560 Hi..,
I am using TPS65560 in one of my application. the EVM is working fine with 320V Flash tube on the EVM.
I want to change the below:
FLASH TUBE output voltage=600/0.1A
Charging capacitor value=1500uf…
Ron,
I am getting excellent results for about 15-20sec, then drift and then erratic results from this 555 set up. You mentioned above using a 1Hz timer followed by a 15us one shot. What do you suggest for "each" and would there be any appreciable drift…
for such conversion normally a Photo Flash Charger is used, something like the TPS65560 (non continuous output)
or a charge pump (made by discrete parts)...
