Hi Jason, If the current is limited there should not be damage, but there can be false outputs if the reverse current is high enough. See the LM339 family appnote. Application Design Guidelines for LM339/LM393/TL331 Family Comparators Specifically…

Hello Kengo, You can also use the models for any of the LM339 family devices, such as the LM393 and LM2903. They are identical as far as the model goes (only difference is the model name). Since we have recently updated the dual device (LM393B and…

I got it fixed, before LF398 input and output where drived into a LM393 comparador. Adding a buffer amplifier ua741 at LF398 output fixed. I also incresead sample capacitator from 10 nF to 100 nF. Thank you for your support though

Hello Tyler, Please see section 2.9 of the LM339 family appnote. While it is for a different device, the negative voltage clamping concept is the same. Application Design Guidelines for LM339, LM393, TL331 Family Comparators (Rev. A) My rule of…

Hello Joyce, At temperatures above room temp, it should still function, but there may be shifts in offset voltage and speed. There can also be variations in the input level where the threshold starts. I would expect wide variation in the trip points…

Hello Jazz, Have a look at the TLV1702-Q1. It is in the VSSOP package (you did not say which package you were using). The TLV7022 would also be a good replacement. The Q1 version is scheduled for later this year. Are both inputs going to be near…

Hello Eric, As Clemens showed, the input may be taken up to 38V without damage. Though I would also place a resistor in series with the input to limit any transient currents (~10k should be fine). Maximum input voltage is 3.3V - 2V = 1.3V. If you…
