Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB7340 , TUSB8040 Team,
If i'm using TUSB7340 with 4x TUSB8040 (USB 2. HUB). Only plan to use HS and never use SuperSpeed.
Question is can I safely use the TLV71211, LDO, 280mA for the 1.1v core rail?
Thanks.
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB8040 I've implemented the same circuit given in the TUSB8040 EVM Module PDF except for the fact that I'm using it as a USB 2.0 HUB. Attached with this post are the schematics of the board I designed. On providing a…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB8040 , TPD2EUSB30 , TUSB8040A1 Hi,
I see that there is no ESD protection on the reference design schematics.I believe there was on the previous TUSB8040 reference design. Is there any reason these were removed…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB8040 Hi Champs,
Can we interface TUSB8040 (USB 3.0) with DM8168 (USB 2.0)? We are looking for Multi speed support including High Speed Functionality. If TI has any other device (HUB) please suggest?

Hello Sebastian,
The tUSB2036 can not be modified to support High-Speed.
The HS traffic is controlled by the EHCI architecture and the FS/LS traffic is controlled by the UHCI/OHCI architecture. A USB 2.0 Host/Hub includes both.
You can use the…
Johnny,
Does the processor have host support built into it? If not, then none of this will work. If so, then the TUSB1210 will allow it to act as single port host and a hub would be required to allow multiple ports.
The follow-up question is does…
Hi. I have tried to write a new EEPROM, but I am unsure if it succeeds.
The TUSB8040 EEPROM Programmer tool reports that the device is attached, but the data at all addresses seem to be set to 0xFF. When I try to write the new EEPROM, the read-back…
I confirm 500mV.
I confirm reset is OK.
I confirm 4G.
Resistors are according to the datasheet. We will try to unplug them tomorrow. I will get back to you as soon as I have results.
One little additional question from our engineer: Is there any…
