OPA544: BI-TINA SPICE Simulation Model with Slew Rate Control Parameters included + device with increased slew rate

Part Number: OPA544
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Our design uses OPA544T.

Test results of the circuit with the OPA544T does not match with the simulation results.

Datasheet of the OPA544T includes the following information:

It looks like the OPA544T TINA-TI Spice Model available in the product page does not include the above parameter.

Support needed for the following at the earliest:

  • Updated TINA-TI Spice Model of OPA544T with the Slew Rate parameter included
  • Any better device which can support the faster slew rates than the OPA544T?
  • Hi Ponnusamy,

the slew rate highly depends on the measuring conditions. So please post a schematic of your test circuit.

The below simulation doesn't show any mistake. The slew rate appears to be modelled properly:

    Kai

  • Hello Ponnusamy,

As Kai has demonstrated the OPA544 slew rate is being correctly modeled at approximately 8 V/us. The model was completely updated in 2018 to use the latest TI op amp model so slew rate was required to be set correctly for the model release.

TI does not offer another op amp that provides an advantage over the OPA544's combined high-voltage, high current output and 8 V/us capabilities. If your output load can be floated (not grounded) two OPA544 op amps can be configured in a bridge-tied load (BTL) configuration. The slew rate can be effectively doubled in the BTL configuration.
