Hi Team,

Need your assistance if we have a device that covers our customer's requirements:

1. Is there a programmable amplifier or preamplifier that can switch quickly between gain settings? I am looking to both have different gain for transmit vs receive and also have different gains depending on timing at a microsecond level of accuracy.
2. Would there be an AFE that is able to combine my above request in more of an all-in-one solution?
3. Could I create an entire pulser/receiver setup that is able to do the fast-switching variable amplification described above?

Morning Jejomar,

There are quite a few dual channel DVGA for the telecomm I/Q receiver channels. If I drill down in both VGA (usually implies voltage gain control) and PGA(implies digital gain control) I pick up quite a few single channel devices, your fast switching request implies either a DVGA or a DAC driving a voltage control VGA.

The LMH6518 was for scopes, might look at that one,

Some of the older VCA parts I worked on where diff in to single out. Most of the more recent devices are diff to diff.

Hi Michael,

If the application is for ultrasound, would there be other parts you'd recommend over the LMH6518?

Well Samuel, that is a deeply mined application path, start with the VCA2612 and go on from there.
